When we said that engadget got the whole enchilada for the nexus one pics, we thought it will take them another day to gather more details about the actual existence of the smartphone. By that we meant real tangible proofs of what could be the official specification of the Nexus One, once it has been unveiled on the market. Although now, a recent-find from FCC shows a model number PB9100 (HTC built) that has a name NEXUSONE on it. Engadget labs explains it in detail
But the real news comes from looking at the radios: quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE with UMTS/HSUPA on 850/1700/1900 frequencies. In other words, this 3G phone is capable of both 2Mbps up and 7.2Mbps down for both the T-Mobile and AT&T networks in the US of A.
Judging the frequency, one could say that the AT&T rumor is finally cut-out from the google phone picture and say hello to the possibility of it being open for other carriers outside USA (european network and others as well) Z-omg! Please let it be available to Asia! oh boy, it seems the only android-ready device that exist there is the cupcake spica of Samsung which is way too debilitated compare to the Droid Onslaught and now the impending Nexus strike.
The ‘endgeek’ are still waiting for the confirmation of this finding. In the end, we can see how the impending success of Nexus can take place. At first we thought the google phone was just another ‘copycat figure of HTC Passion’ with some added functionalities (tweeted exaggeratively) only to boost some sales of Google and to give them a proper springboard for the smartphone market. However, upon seeing the possibility that Google might open the doors for their Nexus One to crawl not only in USA but on a global scale as well, the whole idea suddenly became synonymous to genius. Low cost smartphone + Uber amazing features + Global Enterprise = Smartphone domination worldwide. What more can we ask for?
We will keep you guys posted for more ‘googlish discovery’.
Update: If you have seen the Nexus One Preview then you have a clear preview of what’s stuffed inside the new Google Phone. A recent updates today suggest that the said smartphone don’t have the multitouch capability (The one in which you used your two fingers to zoom the screen, yep that’s multitouch). We scraped the important details but if you feel the need for more knowledge then soothe yourself.

- 4Gig MicroSD card installed (Not sure how big is the internal mem of this new phone though)
- Battery capacity is 1400 mAh (Not too shabby for a HTC type of phone)
- It’s definitely unlocked (Wow that’s the statement of the year)
- No 3g on AT&T (only EDGE) meaning it will be tad too slow (Edge = speed less than 1 mbytes) Yes! Another reason why that deadlast carrier should be plunge again. Anyway, Nexus will use T-mobile.
- The trackball can be used to focus
- Of course its faast, faster than the droid! (Sounds subjective and it appears to be the trite expression of all the people who got their hands on it, but its always sounds good to hear, does it?)
In the end users are still wondering on how much should they shell-out to have this Goog Phone? MP of the camera pl-ease? Availability outside USA? Anyway, this specs leaked was another enlightenment closing an inch on that day of the nexus strike. Stay tuned!
