The quest for the official specs of Nexus One has finally been answered, thanks to the uber-fast bionic ability of ‘endgeeks’ they manage to get hold of the holy-grail specs leaked – to our delightment the question about the availability of the Google Phone to countries outside US has been answered too! In fact it does, and the rumored frequency of HSPA 900 / 1700 / 2100 is all for real, meaning USA, Europe should be covered – technically speaking all UMTS countries should be enjoying the capability to use this phone as well which means South America, Australia and yes Asia is included on the list too.
Here’s the specs: (click to enlarge)
Here are the goodies:
Although we said that its not an iPhone killer, Nexus one has some pretty good features to flaunt too – ‘pretty’ as in heck of a specs.
It will be unveiled worldwide as GSM/EDGE network, but 3G only on T-Mobile in the US. Meaning that ‘AT&T 3G’ that you know will only be in your dreams.
SD card: 4GB Micro SD included on the package – expandable upto 32GB. Has a SIM card slot (obviously, because its a GSM unlocked smartphone)
512MB Ram, 512MB ROM,
QUALCOMM 1GHz (This should be pretty dam-n fast, and yep faster than moto-droid) Although it’s predicted to be a Snapdragon brand, the details for that inquiry is not yet confirmed.
3.7 inch AMOLED screen
Camera up to 5mp with a 2x digital zoom capability, autofocus (how?)
Android 2.0 Platform (Eclair) (Not 2.1?) – Expect the all the juicy google app’s will be injected on this one.
Bluetooth 2.1 capability
GPS capability: User can also tag a photo on a certain location located by the GPS
Wrap-up:
All of the speculations we had were highly accurate, the only question now will be, “How much is that nexus one on the window?, the one with the google tail” Like, we said on the google phone unboxing reactions – this phone will be a game-changer for other android smartphone class; By pioneering an unlock version, this will strike a pretty good competition amongst the ‘droid economy’. Also, expect that on 2010, a 1GHz will be the standard for majority of the android devices - Sony Ericcson’s Xperia X10 will be launched on a 1GHZ Snapdragon processor, doesn’t it?
One of the biggest news will be for Asia, as you may or may not heard there are only few brands of Android phones surfing with this continent – Samsung Spica and the Moto brothers for 2k10 is the closest bet. With Nexus One adding on the mix, we can see a pretty interesting development towards the trend of smartphones (we asians love to buy)
