You gotta love engadget on providing some of the best leaked news when it comes to unicorn gadgets and other schtuff. So probably you already know that Google and Samsung is planning to reveal a second generation google phone (rumored) and it will be named as Nexus S. Critics thought at first that it would only be a copycat of the Samsung Galaxy S – and we are on a disheartened state upon hearing that news hoping there’s a glimmer of hope over this one. After one week, we reported a breaking news that Nexus S may be based on a Samsung Galaxy 2 type of device and it’s catering a lot of staggering features like 8MP camera (W/ a front-facing cam), 1.2GHz processor, Super Amoled 2 glass display technology and of course – will use Android 2.3 Gingerbread for its platform.

Today, this welcoming update from the same source featured out Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt showing-off the Nexus S during the web2.0 summit today! And it looks really crispier, thinner and its back is somewhat covered with a glossy plastic sheet which makes you remember about the BlackBerry Bold. In addition to the leaked specifications, engadget confirms that this Nexus S device will land on T-mobile and also have a NFC feature (Near Field Communication) which is the same type of technology you would want to use if you want to do bump-2-pay on your mobile unit. Interestingly, we’ve seen this short-range frequency technology on the rumored iphone 5 specifications.
At this point, Mr. Schmidt teased us that the Android Gingerbread 2.3 will be rolling out on this coming week. Question is, will the Nexus S be revealed on that time-frame as well?
