If you remember, the same 3DS accessory was flaunted by Capcom during last month’s Tokyo Game Show. It was an extended game attachment which offers a smooth and solid grip -although it makes the console a little bulky to look at. Additionally, it provides a new circle pad button similar with the console’s dedicated pad, which can be utilized for new and upcoming 3DS titles. Back then, there was no announcement if will arrive in the US.

But during the recent NYCC event, Capcom mentioned that the same 3DS add-on would be coming to North America by February 7, 2012 to complement its upcoming 3DS action game, Resident Evil: Revelations. Moreover, Siliconera mentioned that Nintendo has filed for a Japanese trademark bearing the name “Circle Pad Pro“. Putting these 2 information together, it is possible that US residents would receive similar SlidePad accessory although under a new moniker.

Nintendo has yet to confirm these details so we should take it with a grain of salt. Meanwhile, Japanese residents could get their own SlidePad for less than 20 bucks.
