Just when everyone is talking about how many 3DS did Nintendo really sold for this week, it appears a breaking information has been hinted by Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime, confirming that the company’s next “home-console” wouldn’t have anything to do with 3-D. Meaning, the probability of the next-generation Wii a.k.a Nintendo Wii 2 nee Wii HD, wouldn’t be in your 3D screens, at least that’s how the pundits are interpreting this statement.

If you’ll look at the past history of leaks revealed by Nintendo, starting from the “motion-plus” console that turned out to be the Wii, up to the stereoscopic-enabled handheld device that became the Nintendo 3DS, it’s obvious that Nintendo is adamant on sticking with their previous statements towards the fate of its new consoles.
So there you have it folks, No Wii 3D in the future!
In our previous report, EA Game’s Fran Gibeau has predicted that Nintendo is already preparing for the “second act” for consoles and its arrival should be announced on E3 of this year. Well, I’m sure its still too early to tell if the one being pertained here is the next Wii console. For all we know, Nintendo may unleash an independent new device aside from the Wii that’s more targeted against PS3 and Xbox 360. For the fans of Sony and MS, we’ll, we always have that Xbox 720 and PS4 news looming around the corner, am I correct?
