Nokia’s mysterious phone has been recently featured in PR stalls at IFA sporting an unfamiliar design, the Nokia 801 (N8-01). The curve figure is similar to that of the N9 and is powered by Symbian with an edge-to-edge display.

The promo video depicts Air Cloud, a wireless platform that makes possible audio system connectivity thru NFC. The model number itself suggests that it may be equipped with an impressive camera. As shown in the sample video, it has a lot of apps and is smaller in size. The vid unmasked the mysterious phone unintentionally in a Nokia 700 promo booth during the IFA.
When based on the clock’s status on the interface, Nokia 801 seems to be running the latest Symbian Belle platform. There’s also a hint that the device is NFC-enabled, a major characteristics of most Nokia handsets. A Nokia insider has confirmed that the phone is only a concept for now focusing only on the Air Cloud feature. The model number is rumored to be following the current naming routine of the company’s existing flagship, the Nokia N8.
The video teaser gives no further details other than the visible apps and external features. The phone may yet undergo slight modifications before its official release. As a consequence, pricing and availability details are nil for now.
