Ever since Nokia announced that it will be using Windows Phone 7 as its primary platform for all of its mobile devices, it also implied that Symbian will be trashed for good. And eventhough its CEO Elop tried to calm the angry bunch of Symbian followers that it would still be continued as an auxiliary OS, it still doesn’t sound nice for everyone who religiously followed Symbian for more than a decade already.
You see, this is the reason why whenever another type of Nokia device appear, and it’s not running WP7, it looked like a vaporware device already. A situation in which this ‘revamped’ Nokia C7 is being protruded, now called as the Astound, but still using the old S platform on its arsenal.
Again, we aren’t throwing an impetus attack with this device, considering its price would be as low as 80 bucks after a mail-in-rebate landing on T-mobile. But for what it’s worth, would anyone going to buy this knowing that its parent company would be using WP7 for its primary OS?
Anyway, if you are still interested, this Nokia Astound will have its release date on April 6 and to make things even perplexing, Nokia is also planning to release four more Nokia symbian-powered units for T-mobile this year! Err? What happened to the WP7 Nokia Phones demmet?
