2010 sees the launch of Nokia X6’s toned down, baby brother version in its newest model called the Nokia X6 16GB.
Having the latest OS version Symbian^1, the 16GB is boasting of a battery life with a standby time of 18 days, talk time of 11.5 hours under GSM, video playback of 4.5 hours, and an impressive music playback of 35 hours. That time is enough to listen, non-stop, to about 12% of all the tracks that can be stores on the handset.
The Carl Zeiss optic camera of 5 megapixels and its flash made of dual LED makes picture-taking a wonderful experience. The same camera shoots videos too, as all sophisticated camera phones do. Additionally, what makes the 16GB an audio-video joy are two things: the TV-out feature that allows connecting the device right to a much bigger screen to view your taken masterpieces, and the capability of editing videos straight on the smartphone. The handset is also 3G and Wi-Fi capable, and has a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen.
The Nokia X6 16GB is GPS-enabled too, as it works compatibly with Ovi Maps, an all-new navigation software that offers free drive and walk direction-plotting and a lot of extra features that include Lonely Planet and Michelin guides.
Mobile phone gamers will also be glad with the games pre-loaded in the 16GB unit that include Asphalt4, Gameloft’s DJ Mix Tour, and EA’s Spore.
The most obvious disadvantage of the Nokia X6 16GB is its internal memory, which is only half the storage capacity of its older sibling, the Nokia X6 32GB. Another is that the Comes With Music function is not available with the 16GB, though the space is still enough to store up to 5,500 tracks.
With all the other advantageous features, the price of the 16GB is substantially lower than the 32GB, so people who like the Nokia X6 but care less about Comes With Music can find a gem in the 16GB.
The Nokia X6 16GB is due to be released this quarter and will have four new color-finishes: all white, all black, pink-highlighted white, and yellow-highlighted white.
