Notion Ink finally releases the specs of their newest product and they call it Adam. According to the folks behind this Apple iPad competitor, they named it as such because it is not a tablet nor a book reader, but a new and fresh species of electronic device. Adam is intended to run on two versions, one with the normal LCD display and the other with the Pixel Qi screen.
Adam is the first to run on NVidia Tegra 2, the world’s first two ARM Cortex A9 core which is said to offer unmatched browsing and media experience. The screen size is 10 inch TFT LCD PixelQi screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600, with a transflective, transmissive and reflective display modes.
The touch screen has a capacitive touch panel with multi-touch and anti glare coating, scratch and finger print resistant surface. The audio panel has built-in two loud speakers, built-in microphone, 3.55 mm headphone jack and a microphone jack.
Adam is equipped with sensors such as 3-axis accelerometer, ambient light sensing and AGPS. Currently Adam runs on Android 2.1 OS and will be able to run Ubuntu and Google Chrome OS in the future. This device also has a flash acceleration support for Flash 10.1, the very first regarding for web experience in mobile browsing history.
Also comes with a built-in Notion Ink patented 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera. This product supports 3 USB, HDMI port and a SD memory card slot for HDTV docking. Adam has wireless support for WiFi,3G (HSDPA/GSM) and Bluetooth. Firefos and Chrome are its available internet browsers. The battery can last up to 16 hours, 160 hours on backlight off mode and comes with a universal charger. The price range $327 up to $800 and is said to be released this June or July this year.
