As a background, Office 365 is Microsoft’s commercial software plus services that is currently being offered in beta form. It’s comprised of a set of products that targets a wide array of users (from professionals to small businesses).

It’s also a subscription service that combines Microsoft Office Web Apps with a set of web-enabled tools which are easy to use, complements existing hardware and provides security, reliability and control in doing one’s business. These products include the Professional subscription and Enterprise subscription. It is also said to be the successor to the company’s Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS).
The beta form being offered includes access to an online version of Office 2010 applications which also includes SharePoint online, Exchange Online, Office and Microsoft Lync. It may be noted that the Office 365 comes in various plans which also vary in prices. There’s the P, K and E Plans. The P Plan is intended for small or mid-size business (SMB) users which are price-sensitive. On the other hand, the K Plan is for kiosk workers (there are two choices for this plan) or enterprise users while the E plan eyes information workers (there four choices in this plan).
For those who haven’t tried the Office 365 cloud platform, one can try the Beta version by accessing Microsoft’s website. Word is that by June of this year, Office 365 will be released.
