Pandigital has announced the release of the SuperNova tab, its flagship product for its new line of Android media tablets. The SuperNova comes with features you would expect from Android-based tablets and packs extra features you don’t normally find in others – specially at it’s price point of $299.

So what do you get with the SuperNova? Starting from the outside, you get an 8-inch capacitive touchscreen with multi-touch support. It’s smaller than 10-inch tablets but larger than those with 7-inch displays, which means you get the best of both worlds in screen size and portability. It comes in black casing with back-lit Android buttons, front and rear facing cameras and integrated microphone. It runs on Android 2.3 but it is upgradeable to new Android OS versions.
SuperNova is powered by a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor that has a dedicated graphics engine. Add to that its orientation sensor and 2-Axis Accelerometer and you have great graphics performance and game play support. Of course, the sensor is great for making applications automatically switch between portrait and landscape mode too.
Other winning features include built-in HDMI connectivity, 4GB RAM, mini-USB, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi and up to 32GB via microSD slot. Battery life is up 6 hours. It also has pre-installed apps for entertainment, productivity and easy digital content access.
The Pandigital SuperNova will be available mid-October. Watch out for it!
