Other World Computing (OWC) has recently outed Mercury Aura Pro Express 6G, a SandForce-equipped Solid-State Drive with 6Gb/s bus touted to be the first in the industry and designed for 2011 Apple MacBook Air.

In terms of capacity, the SSD can deliver 4x greater than the other SSD options while performance are 3x faster. It fits both 11.1” and 13.3” models of the MacBook and uses Tier 1/Grade A Toggle Synchronous NAND to power up performance and capacity along with SandForce technology ensuring reliability and higher functionality. The sustained data rate hover over 500Mb/s due to its SATA Revision 3.0 compatibility. OWC is a provider of hardware products and has supported the computer industry for decades.
Degradation of write speeds due to long-term and repeated usage is eliminated by its Block Management & Wear Leveling technology. The SandForce Dura Class technology also ensures data protection 100x than the ordinary SSDs. Also featured are the SandForce Redundant Array of Independent Silicon Elements (RAISE), the Error Correction Code (ECC) at its peak and the 7% over provisioning, all designed to complement the data protection and transfer speed features. The Mercury Aura Pro Express 6G provides MacBook owners higher performance capabilities not available in ordinary factory drives.
The 120Gb version has a price tag of $349.99 and the 240Gb variant with $599.99.
