Last week, the first ever leak for the European Palm Pre hit the web and just by looking at it, I could already see it will be a total failure should HP decides to market this one in the US. I mean right now we have two humungous Apple and Android App store plus the possible comeback of Microsoft with its new Windows Phone 7 smartphones. One might ask, Is there really a place for the WebOS of Palm?

As a Palm user of the late nineties and early part of 2000, I really hate to bash this device mainly because it had a good sentimental value for me. But sadly, it failed to update and be competitive like other devices thus it allowed itself to be easily taken over by Apple’s iPhone last 2007.
Maybe if we are living on an imaginary world where Android and Apple isn’t there yet then the Palm Pre 2 might look really hot as a super model. But, right now it does look like that big fat turtle phone from Microsoft which was disowned even before it got the chance to be released on the market.
Needless to say, HP might get a shot on this one if they will release Palm Pre 2 on Europe, particularly on countries where there’s a drought on Apple or Android smartphones. But I bet their chances of finding that would be very slim.
