The newly introduced upgraded toughbook showcased a 10.4 inch LED backlit display with an additional offering of optional touch screen display or an optional dual touch display. The same device also carries the Panasonic’s Curiculum Technology allowing adjustments of the screen’s brightness depending on the surrounding environment with 2 nits for very dark and 1000 nits in direct sunlight. it also has one of Intel’s fast CPU’s with i5-540UM joined with Turbo boost mode that can run up to 2GHz. It also has clocked running at 1.2 GHz with 4 threads and 3MB of L3 cache.
The new toughbook includes 2GB of DDR3 RAM that can expand up to 8GB and an option of either 160GB SATA hard drive or 128GB Solid State Drive. The notebook also proved its name to be ultra rugged yet quick and powerful with a list of certifications and ratings. It has an IP65 rating making it complete dust, rainstorm and water jets resistant ensuring productivity even in challenging situations. Also beyond is its MIL-STD-8106 certification, making it withstand a six foot drop. This full pack device is really awesome and powerful but still has flaws in its making. Its swivel hinge is suspected to be not as strong as the rest of the parts of the device. Its cool features and specs is also matched with its price, to be sold at $3399, really a fortune for just a notebook.
