Panasonic Toughbook, top player in the playing field of durable and rugged notebooks introduced the CF-53 as a new product in their semi-rugged category. The notebook is sporting affordability, notebook engineering and performance suitable for business road warriors for all-around use.

Toughbook CF-3 is integrated with Intel’s latest Sandy Bridge processors, Intel Core i5-2520M vPro and Intel Q67 Express Chipset for improved multimedia capabilities. It weighs just about 5.6 pounds with a 128GB solid state drive, larger touchpad, VGA, HDMI and USB 3.0 port.
The CF-53 have a magnesium alloy casing, steel hinges and tough cushioned components such as the LCD and hard disk drive along with the spill resistant keyboard. It is shock resistant and the battery lasts up to 6 hours. It meets the standard military criteria. That means that it can take quite a beating because it can withstand about 76cm drops of humidity and vibration. It also comes with a built-in special handle making it like a suitcase for users on the go.
Moreover, the Panasonic Toughbook CF-53 utilizes anti-theft function, serial connector or 2 pc card slots and 2 LAN ports.
Panasonic made CF-53 customizable and could come in various processors with varying prices. The Core i3 model which will be available in August is about $1,599 with 2GB of RAM while the Core i5 version that is set to arrive in June costs as much as $1,899 with 4GB of RAM and a battery that lasts up to 10 hours. There’s also the $2,499 version coming in July that sports an anti-glare touch screen display with backlit keyboard.
