Panasonic has now thrown its hat into the 2011 Tablet Battle of the New Decade with their latest tablet entry, the Viera. The Panasonic Android-based tablet was unveiled at the CES 2011 trade show in their press conference.

Here are some of the confirmed specs of the Panasonic Viera tablet:
- Available in 4-, 7-, and 10-inch variants
- Android 2.2 (no mention of ‘Honeycomb’ update)
- All variants will have identical hardware
- Viera Connect, a TV companion app
- Possible DLNA+ capability

Panasonic is primarily marketing this device as a TV companion, meaning that Viera Tablet owners will be able to transfer content from the tablet directly to the TV or vice versa, which could mean either a DLNA+ capability or a wired solution.
There is even the capability to show the content at the same time using both the TV and the Tablet and at different angles. Think of the Matrix-camera rig, where there are multiple angles that can be viewed at the same time. Another use that this Tablet will also perform will be as a central remote control for Home Theater systems and content delivery systems for the Home Theater System.
Pricing and availability is not yet mentioned so stay tuned.
