Good news to all Windows PC gamers, Microsoft has recently announced that it will be enabling the Games on Demand for Xbox 360 services on Window’s PC via Games for Windows – LIVE . Starting December 15 onwards, Windows PC users will have the opportunity to download PC game titles at the comfort of their homes via Games for Windows Live network. Xbox 360’s Games on Demand spearheaded this services and was quite successful.
With Games on Demand, we didn’t just want to create a cut-and-paste version of existing digital distribution services,” said Mike Ybarra, general manager of LIVE Engagement Services. “We challenged ourselves to deliver an integrated platform that takes full advantage of the unique capabilities offered by the LIVE service. Our goal has always been to create a seamless online gaming experience for the Windows community, and Games on Demand is a great step toward that end.
Some of the popular game titles on Game For Windows live’s initial release include Resident Evil 5, Red Faction: Guerrilla, and Battlestations: Pacific, along with Live-enabled versions of popular downloadable titles like World of Goo and Osmos. Microsoft will also enable free download of the Windows Vista game Tinker via Windows Vista Ultimate Extra.
With Games for Windows – LIVE, gamers will be able to use Microsoft’s free online gaming service which enables them to connect and play with their friends, loved ones and other 14 million Xbox LIVE members. The gaming network offers a patented TrueSkill matchmaking system which searches for similar players with the same skill level of its user. Additional features include voice and text messaging to make the gaming experience more interactive.
