Here we go again, beginning a new gaming device under its moniker “project”. Like Project Natal which turned out the be the Microsoft Kinect; Nintendo is prepping up for a “Project Café”, rumored to be the next Wii console, more popularly known as Wii 2 / Wii HD.
With our previous report, we revealed this next-generation device will hold specifications like improved CPU processor, 1080p support for HD games and has a new 6-inch touchscreem controller. Today, some sources in the gamingsphere suggest this device would have a totally different name without including the word “Wii” on it, but still adapting some of its core-functionalities like motion-sensing and its aesthetic design. For the past couple of years, a lot of Wii gamers are hoping to see a real Nintendo console that can play hardcore games much like PS3 and Xbox 360. Of course, this is the predicted case for “Project Café”. Interestingly, pundits from nowgamer believe its price should land from $299 – $349 which would be highly competitive with the current price of its competitors.
In addition to that, some also suggest this console will come as a package, much like PS3 + PS Move / Xbox 360 + Kinect; delivering a whole new improvement in terms of head-mounted stereoscopic display and tracking system – but without any 3D support for now.
Whatever the case may be, we’ll see this one be announced on the upcoming E3 event this June 7-9 at Los Angeles.
