When we hear the term prototype, the first thing that may come to mind is a trial product or something that is first of its kind. However, aside from this, the term prototype is also use as title of an upcoming video game that was developed by Radical Entertainment and published by Activision. This game is actually a direct sequel of the game entitled Prototype and was revealed in the website www.murderyourmaker.com and at the 2010 Spike Video Game Awards. Apparently, this upcoming game is coming out with a new protagonist named Sergeant James Heller who is on his quest to destroy the Blacklight virus.
The events of this game entitled Prototype 2 will take place in New York City just like the original game. And aside from the quest to destroy the Blacklight virus, the story of the game is also about revenge since Heller has a great desire to kill Mercer after his family has been killed in the outbreak of the Blacklight virus. This game will be an open world game and will be shown in a third-person view perspective.
As far as its gameplay is concerned, the Prototype 2 will be featuring three different zones- Green Zone, Yellow Zone and the Red Zone. In addition to this Radical has also created a dodging system and more realistic weapons in the game. Its developers have also confirmed that Prototype 2 will be coming with an environment that is richer, features greater destructibility and an improved visual quality and variety. In addition to this, a wide range of actions and animations will also be featured in this game.
The Prototype 2 will definitely give its gamers more power and excitement. This game is slated for release on April 24, 2012 and will be compatible with different platforms that include the Xbox360, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows.
Well, it is really nice to know how this game will be appreciated by clamoring fans out there and the whole studio is excited to reveal this game. Initially, as confirmed previously this game will not be coming with multiplayer mode of gameplay. However, Radical has been reported to have hired some programmers and this gives the idea that it may be coming with an online multiplayer mode of gameplay.
