Earlier today, some gamers were surprised to see a message on their screen after logging in to Playstation Network. Likewise, the PS3 3.73 firmware update is all legit and confirmed by Sony PSBlog as a non-mandatory update for the console. As usual, some undisclosed bug fixes and improvements were incorporated with this firmware, which sets the curiosity of gamers on fire once again. For all we know, Sony has been implementing mini firmware updates after 3.70 and the team is only providing vague details about the changes they implemented.
Speaking of which, its now confirmed that after this upgrade, players seen the level cap for PSN trophies to be removed. As some of you are already aware, it was limited to 50 and the first player to ever beat it was duck360.
Obviously, this cap removal is a worthy thing to mention on its logs, but somehow, Sony chooses not to share this change with players. Likewise, this brings another notable question from players asking how many other “secret” feature like this Sony has implemented on its previous firmware updates gamers know nothing about?
So far, the important thing is we’ve received no problems from gamers who installed this 186MB worth of update. But I guess if hacking is your thing, that would be a different story huh?
