Remember our report last December that Samsung and Acer are prepping up to release new laptops powered by Chrome OS? Well, it appears today, the blogosphere are hinting that Sammy may put this dream into reality, whereas the basis of this leak came from this screenshot of a chromium bug report.

Check out the picture.

If you will mince the crash report, you’ll see that the particular device running Chromium was this “Samsung Alex” device expected to be a netbook / mini-laptop that runs 1.5GHz dual-core Intel ATOM N550 CPU, screen display of 1280 x 800 px (pundits believe to have a 10-inch size); followed by other goodies such as, SanDisk SSD P4 for its storage unit and 2GB RAM. Meanwhile, it’s worth mentioning that it may utilize a Qualcomm Gobi 2000 3G card for its NIC, supports Bluetooth / WiFi, integrated webcam, Realtek ALC272 for its audio speakers and a Synaptics touchpad.
So far, we’re just reading through the paper here, but this also means that on the upcoming Google I/O next month, we shouldn’t be that surprise if we see this Samsung Alex laptop presented on the event, along with its fellow brethren like, Acer ZGB chrome-based laptop or this Seaboard tablet.
Well, at least now we know Google is serious on pushing its new OS, aside from Android, on the market in the near future.
