I know that it has been a real pain for the Samsung Galaxy S users to be left out on the Android platform race. Ever since these galaxian phones have been released last September, Sammy seems to be in a unsure state of whether it would reveal the much awaited Android 2.2 (froyo) update for its users. As for last month, there were several promising feats spearheaded by XDA-developers reporting about a rooted Android 2.2 hack to finally give the opportunity towards its users to know what’s the taste of a real Froyo treat.

As for today, it appears Samsung Epic 4G (Sprint) will finally have the blessing of Froyo – officially – without going on the trouble of rooting your phone first. Coming from the blogosphere, it appears Epic 4G would be the first US-based Galaxy type of smartphone to received the Android 2.2.1 stock and this is all possible thanks to XDA-developers. Instructions here.
For those curious cats who are wondering the benefits of this update, it would include of course, the ability for your phone to browse flash-based website via the latest Adobe Flash Player 10.1, better Android market, faster javascript readers, more efficient pinch-to-zoom capability, more interactive UI on the main screen – plus many more. You bet this update is a must so if you’re interested, download it now!
