Samsung Galaxy S: Android 2.2 Froyo Upgrade | Download and Release Date

Posted on 22 October 2010 by pinoytutorial

Sometimes, I just can’t figure out why rolling a firmware update wirelessly seems to be one of the hardest task a Mobile company can give? I mean, every time we need an OTA time; usually disaster will strike again, stalling the seemingly unbreakable ETA over and over putting the user over a roller-coaster ride named “when?”.

As for the case of Samsung Galaxy S, Sammy’s company recently released a press-release stating that on November, every Galaxy S phone should be receiving a dose of Froyo update, including all the four carrier brands (Fascinate, Epic 4g, Captivate and Vibrant). The punch line? It will only be available in UK and you should download Samsung’s ‘in the house’ software program — KIES, just to make sure your upgrade to froyo will flow ‘smoothly’.

I can already say this is a good news for our UK friends but it could have been better if this upgrade will roll-out worldwide so every Galaxy S users would know what its like to taste froyo in its purest form— and finally experience Flash on their browser officially, not to mention that deprivation of pinch to zoom capability on any Android smartphone isn’t fair at all. I’m just saying!
