It appears yesterday isn’t the only Gingerbread day for Droid 2 / Droid X and Thunderbolt. You see, coming from XDA-Developers, it appears its Senior OP managed to deliver the Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) update compatible for all Samsung Galaxy S i9000 units – which is now deleted by the request of the same admin.

For all the newbies out there, the model “i9000” is the same model for all your Galaxy S phones including (Epic 4G, Vibrant, Fascinate, Captivate). And if you happened to be an owner of those units, you’ll certainly be delighted with this news, because of the delays and problems faced by i9000 owners for the arrival of any Android updates on their devices. The last time we check, Froyo is still moving on a slow-pace for the four Galaxy S smartphones.
So far, the unofficial Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread leaked at XDA is confirmed as the “official” build, meaning, this should be similar with the update going to reveal by Sammy and its carriers “in the near future”. Sadly, the post was removed by the OP due to some undisclosed reasons. Anyway, if you’ll browse the whole post, you can see hundreds of users already managed to update their i9000 device with this build, proving this update was all legit.
Just make sure you know what you are doing, okay?
