We had a quick preview of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and its innards thanks to the leaked information divulged by Paran. But as promised, more information will be known come MWC. And to officially correct ourselves, the slate will be officially called Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 from here onwards.
The new Galaxy Tab will sport a huge 10.1 inch (1280 x 800) TFT touch screen display which is a big leap from its petite 7-inch predecessor. It will be endowed with cutting edge technology such as the dual-core Tegra 2 processor, latest Android OS and Android UI support. It will be available in 16GB and 32GB variants.
The slim and sexy Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 also sports 8MP rear camera with full HD video recording capability and a 2MP front-facing camera. Unfortunately, Sammy’s new tab doesn’t have any USB nor HDMI port but it has a SIM slot and a 3.5 mm jack. Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.1, HSPA+ and GPRS support.
Here’s a more detailed list of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1’s specs:

It looks like the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is in a better position now to challenge other slate contenders including the iPad 2 and Motorola Xoom. We’re thinking that if Samsung could make its 2nd gen Galaxy Tab more affordable than the rest then it certainly gains a notch or two in this arena.
As of this writing, Samsung didn’t specify its price except that it will be “competitive”. It would probably hit Asia and European markets this March. No announcement for US folks but don’t worry we’ll keep you posted with upcoming details.
