With the closing of December 2010 just right around the corner, new gadgets abound that have 2011 releases as well as new ones that are still unreleases or are just rumors. One of those rumors now is the Samsun Galaxy Tab 2.

There are a couple of rumors floating around the industry that is saying that NVIDIA and it’s dual-core Tegra 2 chipset may be the one’s used for the slated Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. Samsung has “placed a sizeable order with Nvidia for Tegra 2 chips in the first half of 2011, geared for both tablets and smartphones” as mentioned by Citigroup’s Glen Yeung and is backed up by BMO Capital Markets analyst Ambrish Srivastava. This may be in light that Samsung was supposed to make their own Dual-core chip under their own name but was not able to finish it.
There is no confirmation or denial of this piece of rumor by Samsung and both Samsung and NVIDIA spokespersons denied to comment on it.
All this speculation may be also caused by the fact that Google has made Tegra the reference design for Android 3.0 “Honeycomb” which makes mobile device makers also use the Tegra 2 design for their products. We’ll just have to see by 2011.
