Samsung Impression SGH-A877 In Focus | Specs Review

Posted on 14 April 2010 by pinoytutorial

During the 2009 CTIA, the most sought after and talked about the newest phone models. Samsung’s SGH-A877, or Samsung Impression, as most like to refer to it was a big topic brought up by convention goers, techies and magazine editors alike. The phone model boasts of a 3.2” AMOLED brilliant widescreen display, amazing messaging capabilities, a QWERTY keyboard, a widget bar that can be customized according to your preferences, and a pc studio manager application. It may not be tested through the CTIA’s standard for the call quality, but it was definitely named as the “Best phone of the show”. There may be a few downsides to this model, but it’s still considered one of the best phones in the convention.

The design of the phone is similar to that of LG’s Xenon. They have the similar shape and weight of the keyboard, but that’s where the similarities end. The phone is quite bigger in size, 4.48 inches long by 2.28 inches wide by 0.61 inch deep, and is in a way heavier at 5.3 ounces. It is a 3G phone, has a 3megapixel camera and a phone memory of 190MB, but by using a memory card, the memory space could be increased.

Found in this model are the following fundamental features: an alarm clock, a calendar, a task list, a memo pad, a calculator, a world clock, a unit and currency converter, a stopwatch, and a speakerphone. It has Bluetooth connectivity, a USB mass storage, a GPS and pc synchronization features.

This incredible phone model was made available to the public during April 2009. It will set you back about $399 but it is offered at a decreased price of $199 with service and in-mail rebate.

Nowadays, it is a rampant fad to own a touch screen phone. People are looking for the ultimate phone that can do certain tasks. As enumerated and described above, the features are impeccable and are high-class, yet what it makes up for in some areas, it lacks in others such as easy e-mail access. I, myself, am also keen on owning a type of phone such as this, but unfortunately, highly-technological phone models such as these will cost a pretty penny. It’s not a wise decision to splurge on such a luxurious device during such a financially unstable period.
