The release of Samsung Moment M900 during the late part of 2009 was made exclusive to Sprint( placing third behind Verizon Wireless and AT&T in the industry of telecommunications trade in the US). It was in November of last year when subscribers awed by the Samsung Moment availed the phone via a $180 two year service agreement with Sprint.
This very first Android phone from Samsung Electronics has quite an impressive specification to boast of: 3.2 mega pixel auto focus camera ,3.2-inch AMOLED touch-screen , 800 MHZ processor ,upgradable memory of up to 32 GB, Wi-Fi ,GPS , integrated and ready to use social networking and web applications(full HTML browser). This Android OS smartphone has a side slider and a QWERTY keyboard.
If you were an owner of the Samsung Moment M900 and you wish to update your gadget, simply visit a Sprint repair center in order to get some tweaks for your mobile phone software. This update is already available online being an PC-based install. So by the 2010’s second quarter, update to Android 2.1 will be out.
Apparently, sprint shall send out a free SMS message that says there is an important software update for the Samsung Moment handsets and that detailed instruction may be viewed at www.sprint.com/momentupdate.
The software update known as CL14 updates is supposed to include the following tweaks:
- indoor location fix via a network-assisted GPS
- updates to some third party applications, with the inclusion of Visual Voicemail, NFL, NASCAR and Sprint TV
- alterations to emergency dial on lock screen
- reset in recovery mode that entails removing and reinserting the battery, pressing the volume down, pressing the send and end keys until the rebooting options appear or pop up then scrolling the data/factory reset and finally pressing OK.
- improvements to battery life and battery fixes
