Samsung is a company that pioneers in laptops, and now they’re adding to their line, making the NB30 touch screen and naming it as such, the Samsung NB30 touch. Although the company has previously announced that they will not be releasing other netbooks at the end of 2009, they certainly came through with this product.

The NB30 has a 10.1-inch matte touch screen, Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB/250GB of hard drive space and Windows 7 Starter Edition. Its connectivity includes WiFi, Blutetooth and three USB ports. One of these ports is actually used for recharging phones and other kinds of gadgets, both VGA and audio. Other added features include a webcam and a card reader.

The design is simple yet convenient, very durable and they’ve even described it as ‘rugged’. It’s not exactly known why it’s described as such, but it’s only a guess that it may have something to do with the netbook itself – How it is protected against the elements. The keyboard is apparently spill-resistant, the coating scratch resistant and its hard drive has an anti-shock protection. So, it’s pretty much a handy gadget to carry around. Let’s say you ‘accidentally’ dropped your NB30 from a height of 30inches, you don’t need to worry. After such a fall, you’d still have a fully functioning gadget.

This is definitely one netbook to watch out for! It’s convenient to bring around with, from the house, to a lunch meeting, even to a café to relax. You don’t even have to worry about accidentally spilling beverages over it because the keyboard is spill resistant! But even though it is described as a ‘rugged’ netbook, one shouldn’t be sloppy and careless about it. You should still take good care of it. A good netbook will last for a couple of years or so, that is, if you aren’t the type to shop for the newest model in the market.

The said netbook was released last March and well set you back €399 ($544). But for such a gadget, the money spent will be worth it. For added reviews about the Samsung NB30 Touch netbook, check the video attached.
