Good news awaits Samsung Nexus S 4G (on Sprint) owners as their smartphones will be having a software update.

Details are quite scarce at the moment as to what other goodies are in store for the owners but what we can tell you are that Google Wallet as well as some Google security fixes will be made available. I bet you did wonder what is Google Wallet? Well, it was developed by Google and it pertains to a mobile payment system which makes use of near field communication or NFC (relatively simple as one only needs to tap the phone to any PayPass enabled terminal). With it, owners/users are given the power to store their credit card or gift card in their mobile phone. It also allows users to redeem sales promotions with the use of their phones.
Those who own a Nexus S 4G are pretty damn lucky as they would be the first to have the Google Wallet. The upcoming update was announced on Samsung’s official FAQ page and this really confirms everything. Owners who have the GRJ90 software version will be receiving a network notification for the GWK74 or the Android 2.3.7 and this will be through Over the Air (OTA) refresh.
Owners may need to wait a little bit as the rolling out wasn’t yet divulged yet.
