Okay, you should read about this new phone that Samsung’s rumored to have been conceiving for several months now. There have been quite a few articles that have been written about this certain phone. It’s Samsung’s SCH-W960 3D Phone.
Pictures of this hottest phone from Samsung have been spotted in several websites as well as some leaked specs. Yet, there are some inconsistencies with the details and reported features about this phone. The first release of the leaked spec said that the phone has a 3.3 inch WQVGA AMOLED touchscreen display, but the newest specs released state it only has 3.2 inches. What a bummer. They took away the 0.1 inch.
Other features include a 3.0 megapixel camera with Xenon Flash, DNSe 2.0, and DivX support, together with HSDPA connectivity. It also has the dual DMB (both S-DMB and T-DMB), which makes the phone capable of receiving terrestrial and satellite signals.
What about the 3D part? Well, from what I’ve read, it’s still not that apparent if the 3D in this phone just means the 3D-style menu and nothing else or it just means that 3D stereoscopic videos can be enjoyed with the realistic 3D AMOLED. But there’s another source that claims the 3D part means that this phone has the capability to convert 2D content to 3D.
Samsung has not yet officially released a statement about the 3D part, so it still isn’t clear. At this point in time, we’re left in the dark about this feature.
In the articles about the Samsung SCH-W960 3D phone, it is said it will only be released in Korea, at the beginning. Yet, depending on the success of the phone there, the company will consider releasing it in European and North American territory, although it is rare in cases when the device lacks the digital TV tuners.
3D phones? Hmm. I’ve got to think about that for a moment. So, there’s been a boom in 3D movies, now, they’re expanding to 3D phones. I’m not yet sure how 3D phones work, and how the contents are supposed to look, but I’m guessing it would be the same as watching 3D movies, right? You feel as if you’re there experiencing the entire thing.
