Its been a while since we last heard about these Bada phones taking the limelight again as the company’s primary focus is all about Android and its future green devices. This made the company’s announcement today a little bit interesting since it formally revealed three new Bada phones on its arsenal, making the pundits ask “why oh why…if you have Android?”.
Starting with the most powerful on the trio: The Samsung Wave 3, it’ll be under a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen display running 1.4GHz CPU (single-core) all on its 9.9mm thin chassis whereas its form-factor is enveloped by fully anodized aluminum in unibody design protecting its innards while accentuating its beauty for interested customers. Other goodies include 3MB integrated storage, expandable microSD slot, 5MP shooter camera; HSPA network support, Social Hub & Music Hub integration, and since this one uses the latest Bada 2.0 OS, it’ll include the platform’s WiFi direct, voice recognition and NFC capabilities including ChatOn which is Sammy’s newly-fangled free SMS service that works on iOS, Android or Blackberry devices.
While its release date and price are still being concealed, the Samsung Wave 3 is expected to be announced on next week’s IFA event on Berlin. Likewise, some pundits are still wondering if this launch foresees the possible future of Samsung switching its Android phones for its own operating system now that Google found its new handset manufacturer in the arms of Motorola — we’ll see!
