Samsung, a company opting to deliver smartphones to fit every lifestyle is also one of the leading mobile phone providers that is not only in the United States but all over the world. As a testament to this fact, they are continuously improving their products. In connection with this, Samsung recently launched the Wave 2 or S5250 and Wave 2 Pro or S5330 which supports Samsung’s open platform called Bada.

Having a QWERTY slider, both support Quad-band frequency coupled with GPRS/EDGE features however, the smartphones don’t have 3G capabilities (yeah, it’s quite sad). An 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 allow the fastest connectivity there is. A 3.2-inch TFT LCD screen is a not-so-tiny and not-so-big screen which can fit your style and one you can easily slide in your pockets. A 3 megapixel camera with video recorder is not the highest resolution there is but sufficient for taking your pictures. An 80 MB of memory holds a lot of memory capacity, rev it up with a 16 GB micro SD expansion and there is limitless storage space. Samsung’s Social hub, allows closer connections and contacts through email, IM and other social networking sites. It is a better way to view messages and manage accounts. Even applications like Facebook and Twitter are easily reached by using this phone because they are pre-installed.
There is also such a thing called Google Latitude and geo-tagging, with the former you can inform your friends easily where you’re headed to as well as find them by looking at maps while the latter pertains to getting use of maps by attaching them to your friends’ profiles in your contacts.
The Bada platform allows you to access an application store called Samsung Apps. This in turn makes you download important features used in gaming, navigating, social-networking, e-booking as well as health and lifestyle applications without having to install any software. This is where Samsung Kies come in – an application for fast downloading. Even Java applications are offered at Samsung Apps which allows one to experience more content.
With all these, I think these two phones are reasonably going to fair in the market in August when they are released in Russia and South East Asia. The specifications are “okay” considering that almost all smartphones offer the same specifications. But when it comes to the applications that Samsung added with its bada platform, it surely is one great deal. The new features like geo-tagging, social hub and access to more content is definitely an A plus on my list!
