Well, if Hitachi has the fastest 7mm HDD on the planet, it appears Seagate now holds the title of the slimmest hard drive with its latest GoFlex Slim HDD. And this one packs with a mere 9mm width, 2.5-inch length, and weights for 0.356 pound only, which brings us the fond memories of seeing this device at the CES last January.

As for its specifications, the new GoFlex Slim drive is 38% thinner compared to its previous ultra-portable drive models, and this one slides too easily on your pocket or a purse, delivering comfortability of access and transport of your digital content. This one will support USB 3.0 for a faster transfer speed than USB 2.0 (Aprroximately 10 times), but this one remains compatible with the previous USB ports and to Windows and Mac computers as well.
Then again, if you’re going to use this on Mac, you should use a specific GoFlex Slim version which is HFS+ formatted to make it compatible not only on Mac but on Windows machines as well.
If you are interested, you can get its 320GB version for a price of 99 USD and it should be available on Apple retail stores and other stores across USA on this release this May. It comes with a 3-year warranty and the promise of the company that it should last until you grow old!
