Sharp may not be a company that has been known in the cellphone industry worldwide like the others but it is definitely making a good business in the Japanese phone market. And Sharp is taking a major step to change its fate and to be known worldwide.

Sharp is set to unveil a new mobile phone which will be called Sharp FX. If you still remember, Sharp was not lucky enough in its previous phone releases. They were behind the Sidekick and Kin Series which as of present has already ended up its existence.
The Sharp FX is its first quick messaging phone that will be distributed for AT&T network. The Sharp FX will be AT&T’s latest mobile TV-capable device and will be launched to market by Personal Communications Devices, LLC. The Sharp FX clearly reminds us of the Sidekick.
Basically, it is a phone that will enable its users to send SMS and e-mails as well as voice calls. It seems that it is a simple phone with average features, well, except for its Mobile TV. Overall, nothing is so extraordinary with this soon-to-be released phone.

The Sharp FX comes with a 3-inch full touchscreen that has a 400 x 240 resolution and QWERTY keyboard which comes as a slide-out for easy messaging, e-mail, social networking and IM. It comes with a dimension of 114 x 56 x 15 mm and weighs around 142 gms.
Aside from these, the Sharp FX also comes with these features:
- MP3 player
- 2.0 megapixel digital camera with camcorder
- Bluetooth 2.1
- AT&T exclusives such as AT&T address book, Navigator, Social Net, att.net mobile browser for HTML surfing
- AT&T mobile TV (with live and time-shifted programming from FLO TV like ABC mobile, CNN Mobile, Disney Channel and etc.)
- 3.5 mm headphone jack
- internal memory of up to 80MB and external of up to 32GB microSD card
- it comes with EDGE, WLAN and GPS
The Sharp FX will be available starting July 25. It will available in all AT&T stores nationwide as well as online via the website www.wireless.att.com for an affordable price of $99.99 only and comes with a two-year contract. The original price is $149.99 but after a mail-in rebate of $50 which will be in the form of a promotion card from AT&T it is now offered at $99.99 only.
Whether you will buy this phone or not lies on your decision. If you think you are satisfied with its features then go for it. But if you are looking for a more advanced and high-end mobile phone, then the Sharp FX is definitely not for you.
