News has been spreading all over the net that Sony Ericsson U5i and Kurara had a mixed up? But did the mix up came from Sony or it came from FCC (Federal Communications Commission)? Confused? I am too, but let’s clear things a bit. Kurara and U5i are two different phones (supposedly), but rumor has it that the Sony Ericsson U5i just had its check up at the FCC but it wasn’t recognized as the U5i instead it was tagged as Kurara! Strange isn’t it? But what could have gone wrong? Or was there really something wrong? Can it be that Kurara and U5i is just the same phone?
So many questions, but anyway let me tell you guys what really happened but 1st let me give you details about the difference of the two phones.

Mobile Phone Features:
Sony Ericsson Kurara: Injected with Symbian OS and displays a 3.2 inch touchscreen ‘high-definition’ (but some say it’s 3.5), running a 720p video recording. What’s more it will have a Cortex A8 processor with built-in Wi-Fi and High speed packet access, and a whopping 8.1 megapixel cam to boot and yes it’s 3G!
Sony Ericsson U5i: Nobody knows for sure what this phone is all about but as per FCC this phones possesses Edge Band & GSM at 850/1900, an 802.11b/b Wi-Fi. U51 is a 2G phone it also has Symbian for OS, HD screen just like the Kurara but the cam resolution is still unknown (some say it’s 2 megapixel but according to updates it’s not true)
Unfortunately there’s no concrete explanation from Sony Ericsson nor FCC of what is really true, expect this phone to be clarified at the CES or if we are not so lucky then we might get a full view of the facts by March 2010 (Sony Ericsson has requested full confidentiality about the FCC test that happened but it will ran off by March). For now we are blind, but if you have leaked details please lead us to the light, for now all I can say is if Kurara is indeed different from U5i then that means U5i is a low-end Symbian phone. I have pictures below of the so called Kurara but I am not entirely sure if one of them is U5i, and the video I got also states an unofficial disclosure of the specs (told you everyone is still blind about this topic). But don’t worry we will update you once we get some juicy info whether it’s official or not.
