One of the most painful reality any Xperia X10 users are having, including its mini / mini pro versions, is the fact that its Android update is doomed from the start. In fact, it was only revealed last week that Xperia 10 would only be the smartphone out from the group to receive a Gingerbread (Android 2.3) update on Q2 of this year, without hinting any possibilities for its mini versions.
As of today, it appears there’s a reason why Sony Ericsson was in fact very bitter about the issue. And that’s because, it would reveal a new X10 Mini Pro packing the latest Gingerbread platform “in the near future”.
Coming from a Chinese-based forum, the first ever leak for the 2nd-gen Xperia X10 Mini Pro has been unearthed and this one is called SK17i w/ a codename “mango”. While everything is in Chinese, we translated all the relevant bits of details for you, and it appears this device would have a 1GHz processor with a 3 / 3.2-inch screen display, much like the previous X10 Mini Pro, but this one would be running the Gingerbread platform, along with some tweaks on its UI.
Then again, its expected release date is still missing-in-action, but since the revelation of X10 Mini Pros was last February, we may be seeing these gingerbreaded mini xperias soon on this quarter as well. What do you think?
