While this device isn’t exactly the thing that we are waiting for to slip away out from Sony Ericsson’s arsenal, it gives us a wonderful feedback that the company seems to be using the technique called “plausible deniability” on trying to market its high-end phones and obviously, the Playstation Phone is on the top list.
Anyway, today is the day you’ll see how insiders managed to leaked again another smartphone and this one will be called as Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo. Check her out!
For those who can recall, this is the same Vivaz 2 a.k.a MT15i that was leaked two weeks ago packing a mid-end type of specifications hoping to land on a price suitable for budgeted customers. Anyway, the new updates as of this moment confirms the Xperia Neo is going to have its release date announced on the upcoming MWC event next week and its features are much likely the same with past leaks we’ve gathered like: 4-inch LED backlit display with 854×480 resolution (touchscreen). It will still be running a 1GHz Qualcomm type of processor and Adreno 205 chip for its GPU. In addition to that, it’ll have an 8MP shooter camera w/ LED Flash + Exmor R sensor and ability to record 720p HD video clips. Other goodies include a 1.3MP front-facing camera for video calling, Bluetooth / WiFi support and HDMI port.
Honestly, the thing that’s making us excited here isn’t about Xperia Neo’s specifications but rather, the platform it will be using which is claimed to be the Android 2.3 (gingerbread). For those veteran Xperia users, this would come out as a great news because we all know Sony Ericsson has a bad history of revealing the latest Android platform for its Xperia series, just take for example its Xperia X10 of the yesteryear.
Price is expected to fall on 450 USD zone sans the contract landing on USA for its launch.
