If you’re an Xperia X10 owner and already jonesing for an Android 2.1 Eclair update, well sucks to be you but it seems that AT&T has delayed the update for a time.

Sony Ericsson USA has passed the blame back to AT&T subtly by citing “the technical requirements that must be met” and that they “have no control” over “rigorous testing” that takes several months.
If you take a look at the current dev scene for Android, there has already been a lot of updates regarding performance and speed. So if you’re still stuck on the Android 1.6 platform, then it could be time to look for alternative phones that are already offering newer OS platforms.
For a quick refresher of what the Xperia X10 is, here’s a rundown:
- 4-inch capacitive touchscreen at 480 x 854 resolution
- Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon 1 GHz processor
- 1 GB storage
- 8GB card storage upgradeable to 32 GB
- 384 MB RAM
- GPRS
- 3G
- Wi-Fi 802.11b/g
- DLNA
- Bluetooth
- 8 MP autofocus and LED flash camera
- Dimensions 119 x 63 x 13 mm
- Weight 135 g
If you’re a loyal Xperia X10 user, then you can settle in for the long wait for an Android update or seek out your own means to do so. The Internet is your friend.
