It was February 14 in Barcelona, Spain when Sony Ericsson announced the latest addition to their line of Communication Entertainment phones, the compact or mini version of the Xperia X10. These phones are stated to be released within the first half of 2010.
Xperia X10 mini and X10 mini pro may have been so minute in size, but they are powered with sophisticated communication entertainment abilities. The company claims that these compact and clever phones have a combined control of high spec features and Sony Ericsson’s very own UX platform.
Both small-sized phones have a slide out QWERTY keypad for open and spontaneous experience in entertainment. The UX platform is integrated with the Android 1.6 version operating system to account for both entertainment value and communication merits. User are allowed to select their preferred applications from the Android market to be programmed on the phone, plus they can also personalize the home screen’s four corners and widgets for access to their chosen applications.
Xperia X10 mini and X10 mini pro are both incorporated with the Sony Ericsson’s signature Timescape user interface application that gathers in one location for easy peek of all communication forms like text messages, missed calls, and Facebook and Twitter updates. They are also outfitted with interactive music player that offers an ‘infinite button’ for putting together music from the store or from YouTube.
The small gadgets’ five mega pixel cameras account for recording video and capturing pictures to be shared via the web. They both are designed to support HSPA 900/2100 and EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, HSPA 850/1900/2100 and EDGE 850/900/1800/1900.

X10 mini will be available in selected markets in different colors like Pearl White, Black, Pink, Lime, Red and Silver. Whereas X10 mini pro can be purchased also from selected areas but only in two colors, Black and Red.

Indeed, the screen on the X10 mini is small, but S-E seem to be the first ones to recognize that not everyone who wants a smartphone also wants a brick. (>100g = brick). What looks more obviously missing is android 2.1, which includes navigation and which will be standard by the time that this device hits the market.
