Good news to Sony Xperia users!
Sony Ericson has announced that it will start the updates for Android 2.1 in Xperia X10, X10 mini and X10 mini pro this coming Sunday, October 31, 2010.

The updates will start on generic kits based on Nordic countries which will be followed by more kits on Monday and continues throughout the whole month of November. A brief sum-up about the updates for Xperia X10 will include HD video recording, upgrade to Android 2.1, new homescreens for apps, and a social phonebook which will automatically sync contact photos from facebook.
As for Xperia X10 mini and X10 mini pro, updates will include improved bluetooth functionality, application backup and restoration, automatic contact synchronization, and upgrade to Android 2.1 platform.
Sony Ericson also stated that these phones will automatically send notifications as soon as the updates are ready. Users will also be guided though some steps to allow them to secure personal data backup before finalizing the installation updates. Furthermore, “kits” will get different updates at different times which will basically depend on various networks and countries. This is because the software upgrades will be done in a phased roll-out.
So, if ever your Sony Xperia phone isn’t updated yet – just be patient and it will come.
