Here’s a welcoming update for Sony as it finally manages to reveal something new for its Reader Daily Edition series. Last time we’ve heard, Sony was prepping up for an E-ink e-reader in the form of Sony Reader PRS-350SC, with a very competitive price of 180 bucks against the Amazon Kindle graphite edition. Today, the company unveils the Sony PRS-950SC Reader Daily Edition and at first glance, you can already see that it packs all the necessary specifications of what an efficient e-reader should be.

This new Reader Daily Edition gadget sports a 7 inch full touch screen E-ink display, which has a memory of 2GB, MicroSDHC expansion slot (up to 32GB) and it supports 3G / WiFi connection. Aside from the specs, this e-reader features a sleek Sony interface, which comes with pre-installed e-books, web-browsing capability, automatic multiple page creation, more fluid zoom capability, personalized stand-by screen enabling users to make their handpicked picture as the e-reader’s screensaver and a quick access to sony’s e-book online shop.
Currently, the Sony PRS-950sc is tagged at 299 USD and is somewhat steeper compare to Kindle graphite (Kindle 3) but at par with the price of Nook Color and way reasonable for Asus DR-900. If you’re interested you can pre-order this one today at Sony.
