For camera fans and enthusiasts who have been tracking about the mysterious Sony A700 DSLR replacement we have unearthed new information for you. Straight from Sony Japan’s hub is the elusive SLT-A77.

Although not too many details were divulged by the site at the very least we had a pretty good glimpse of what the Sony SLT-A77 would look like. Sony Japan provided a teaser image of the DSLR camera which is apparently encased in a transparent chassis. But more importantly, you should examine its translucent mirror technology which is also present in Sony A55 and A33 DSLR models. If you haven’t heard about it, this feature will allow continuous phase-detect autofocus while shooting at 10 fps or recording a full HD AVCHD video.
Aside from that, the upcoming Sony SLT-A77 will use the “Exmor” APS HD CMOS sensors while utilizing a 500mm f/4 G-series lens, new flash unit as well as new battery grip feature. No details however, were mentioned on how many megapixels the SLT-A77 will be packing but based on some reports it may have at least 20 MP.

Sony Japan said that the upcoming Sony SLT-A77 will be out by mid 2011. No price details were mentioned on the site as of this writing.
