Sony seems to be playing their game up to the next level. Here is some news about the new Sony Music Unlimited subscription service for the PS3 and Bravia TV’s.

Although limited to their own brand of products, Sony is making efforts into making their service as wide spread as possible. This new service will be first released to the United Kingdom and in Ireland. The service title as Music Unlimited will allow users to stream 6 millions songs worth of a library to Playstations 3’s, Bravia TV’s, or other web-connected Blu-ray players. They are also keeping their doors open to the option of being able to sync their playlists to other services like iTunes. For Future compatibility, Sony has designed the service to work with PC’s as well. There is also “a wide range of Sony’s portable devices” as well as Android-based smartphones in the near future.
Since this service is newly released, Sony plans to make it work alongside with their own Qriocity service. This is in line with their plan to expand content delivery and in turn make their revenue streams more profitable. Sony plans to release this service in the US, Canada and most of Western Europe by next year.
