Tech manufacturers are continually coming up with new laptops and netbooks to adapt with customers’ needs. Sony might be one of the best when it comes to creating video game peripherals but when it comes to tablets and notebooks, the company has yet to produce something revolutionary. With the reported Sony Vaio Chrome OS laptop, perhaps that will change – hopefully.

Sony Insider has reported that Sony is prepping 2 upcoming notebooks including the new Vaio Chrome OS and the mysterious “Hybrid PC”. The Sony Vaio Chrome OS laptop uses the Google operating system. And here are the known specifications to be expected. The new notebook will sport an 11.6 inch (1366 x 768 resolution) display, Nvidia Tegra 2 platform and 1 GB onboard memory.
Furthermore, the new Sony Chrome OS PC will also have a 16GB eMMC (electronic multimedia Card), an unknown GeForce GPU unit, Wireless WAN and a keyboard similar to Chrome Cr-48 laptop. Additional connectivity features like Bluetooth and GPS will be enabled later after its release. The laptop also weighs around 2.2 lb.
There is still no statement on how much this laptop would cost or any statements regarding its exact launch. Exact photos of the laptop are still under wraps too. But for sure, the new Sony Vaio Chrome OS laptop is something gadget lovers will look forward too.
