Sony first released its Vaio Y last January. Back then it was a confident 13.3- inch laptop. But things changed when Apple released its 11.6-inch Macbook Air. And thus, it leads Sony to create the Sony Vaio VPCYA19FJ/B model.

Originally announced by Sony Japan, the new Vaio Personal Computer measures just 11.6 inches. Not only that, it also uses ultra-low voltage along with its 1.33 GHz Core i3 Intel processor. It uses Intel graphics and includes 320GB hard drive with an extra USB port. It’s quite slim at just 1.24-inches in height and can last up to six hours of runtime or up to 11.5 hours with an extended battery.
Other specs of the new Vaio model includes 2GB of RAM, 1366×768 display resolution, built-in webcam, four USB ports, card reader, HDMI output, bluetooth, gigabit Ethernet, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. It also comes with Vaio Care and Windows 7 Home Premium 64.
Sony Vaio VPCYA19FJ/B is expected to be officially released in Japan this November 27. As for international release, Sony has not yet given an official statement. It is also expected to cost around 110 000 Yen or 980 Euros.
So if you’re into lightweight and thin laptops, you might want to consider the new Sony Vaio over Macbook Air. But if you’re a hardcore apple fanboy, then we rest our case.
