If you want to have it all without compromising anything, then you better check out the latest from Sony, the new VAIO Z series. Knowing that Sony is one of the pioneers in notebook computers, for sure they have brainstormed very hard in coming up with the special features to make an ultra mobile model specifically for the ultra mobile traveler.
The Sony Vaoi Z actually has two models, the VPCZ11Z9E and the VPCZ11X9E. Overall, both models exude the slim and exquisite styling appropriate to its sophisticated users. The 33.3 cm screen goes very well with the integrated NVIDIA® GeForce® GT330M graphics chipset with 1GB GDDR3 VRAM – very powerful to give its users for high level graphics experience. It is also equipped with DVD RW, WLAN, WWAN, and Bluetooth. Not only that, the Vaoi Z is endowed with HDMI out and motion eye camera, putting notebook computers up to a next level.
So far, the two models look great, but which one should you get? It really depends on your need. In general, the VPCZ11Z9E is a “heavier” version of the VPCZ11X9E. To be specific, the VPCZ11Z9E is powered by Intel Core i7-620M at 2.66GHz, it’s RAM is 6GB, Quad SSD at 256GB and is slightly heavier with a weight of 1.43kg.
A cool bonus with this model is that it is equipped with a fingerprint reader which the VPCZ11X9E doesn’t have. On the other hand, the VPCZ11X9E is powered by Intel Core i5-520M at 2.4GHz, it’s RAM is 4GB, Dual SSD at 256GB and weighs 1.41kg.
The Sony Vaoi Z series was announced to be available by the end of March 2010 in Europe and eventually in the US thereafter. Just like any other Sony device, these laptops both have add-ons and accessories. Right now, no official price has been set, but it will definitely be expensive. The estimated price is approximated at above $2,000.
