Spotify has just revealed a new app finder, a platform that aims to bring user music related info like lyrics and reviews. It was revealed at the New York event where the Swedish music streaming service company is expected to announce what’s next in their line-up. As previously reported, a lot of people are really expecting that the “what’s next” event in New York will be all about apps and they were right because this was exactly what the announcement made by its CEO Daniel Ek is all about when it took the stage to officially unveil the new app finder.
In addition, Daniel Ek announced its partnership with Rolling Stone, The Guardian, Last.fm, Billboard, Pitchfork and a lot more. This new platform is considered a part of the company’s social strategy in order to bring a number of users to the service. If you still remember the company has also considered Facebook integration and as a result a large number of users were attracted to the service. So what can we expect with this new platform aside from the fact that it will be able to bring us some music related information?
According to the company’s CEO, Spotify will be using the platform to add some new features and implement some changes like the inclusion of the new Facebook-style social stream that will allow users to see what your friends are doing on the service in real-time. This platform will be open to everyone, but the company needs to seek approval of all apps before finally making way into the service. Well, third party developers out there may try these apps as a beta version of some of the apps was made available already as of this time.
