In case you’re living in a local suburb outside USA, you’ll think Starbucks as your usual classy café where you spend quality time with your buddies to relax and have a calm and soothing conversation. But in the land of Abraham Lincoln, Starbucks is well known to be an extender of your office. In fact, some people tend to do their office work there mingling with the mass of people coming in and out of the place.
Likewise, Starbucks have become popular today not only because of its frappuccino or blueberry cheesecakes but also because its serves ‘fast and reliable’ public WiFi for free.
As of today, the company decides to bring its service to another notch by introducing its first mobile payment app available for Android which you can now download for free at the green market.
On a nutshell, its features are very similar with other mobile-payment applications popularized by Square, and it lets you pay with your smartphone, managed your credit card – letting you access your starbucks card balance; reload your card balance and it even has a “find nearby starbucks stores” option.
According to its PR statement, this app will support all Android phones using Eclair (2.1) or above, and expect that there’ll be 1000 starbuck stores in America to provide this service on Summer. Meanwhile, there’s no hint if this will be available on Europe or Asia as well. And oh, its filesize is 10MB which can’t be moved to your SD card.
