StarCraft 2 is one of the most popular real-time strategy game developed by Blizzard Entertainment, which is initially intended for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. This game presents a cast of new heroes and familiar faces in this edgy sci-fi story. Amazingly, this fast-paced and competitive multi-player game earned positive review from various critics; no wonder many game enthusiasts were enthralled with this game and keeps on playing it.
And because of its popularity, there were some rumors that there are plans of including the Starcraft 2 as an application to be played using the iPhone or even the iPad device. However, many critics find this plan to be something ridiculous. But despite its potential issues, developer Daniel Hellerman still wants to push through with this plan.
As of present, Daniel Hellerman is working on the Starcraft 2 Gameboard application which will apparently allow its users to have a full control on the Starcraft 2 straight from your iPhone or iPad device. The said gameboard comes complete with a mini map control, comprehensive unit statistics, as well as easy touch access to the game’s most significant hotkeys and macros. The StarCraft 2 gameboard syncs up to the game by using a USB or Wi-Fi connectivity thus, converting your iPhone or iPad into a second keyboard that can be altered and changed especially for the game.
In terms of how this application works, well it may be pretty similar to that of the WoW Fishing app previously featured on the GamesRadar. This WoW Fishing app is also available in the Apple App Store and it allows iPhone users to act like a Wii remote and imitate the act of casting your line and catching the fish off the shore. This application is still available up to now in the App Store so there is a possibility that Blizzard will not take any legal action against the upcoming StarCraft 2 Gameboard developers as well.
The developer also cleared that this gameboard application is not a hack and no modification was made on the game itself. Blizzard, the game’s developer is well-known for shutting down any third party applications related to their games that violates their term of service in one way or another.
Playing the StarCraft 2 with your iPhone or iPad may not be a good idea for some but on the other hand it will still allow iPhone users to do another task with their device. The Starcraft 2 Gameboard is expected to be released via the Apple App Store this September and will be offered at a price of $2.99.
